Dr. Michael Warren, Executive Director of Global Strategic Research for Hart Energy oversees publication of the World Refining Fuels Service and manages several consulting projects around the world in the field of biofuels.
Prior to joining Hart Energy, Michael was the National Manager of the Latin American Research Group in Toyota Motor North America (TMA) for eleven years. In that position at TMA, Mr. Warren managed a team that conducted economic, political, automotive market & competitor intelligence research for Toyota in Latin American markets. Michael was also a participating member of the Demand Task Group of the National Petroleum Council’s (the “NPC”) Oil & Natural Gas Study. Served on the Board of Directors for Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) for two years.

Cover Image Raphael Hudson is Manager of Global Technical Research for Hart Energy Consulting. Hudson also publishes research for the International Fuel Quality Center and Alternative Fuels Service covering Latin American fuel quality & vehicular emissions regulations as well as trends and events affecting transportation fuel supply and demand. Since joining HEC, Hudson has contributed to projects including analyses of potential export destinations for off-Euro-spec fuels, analyses of long-term transportation fuel availability and quality in select South American countries, potential impacts of the penetration of biodiesel in South America above automakers’ recommended limits. Prior to joining HEC, Hudson worked as an analyst for Toyota Motor North America, focusing on economic and regulatory issues affecting the Latin American automotive industry and on automakers’ product plans and vehicle sourcing strategies in North & South America. Hudson holds a B.A. in economics and political science from the Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in finance and economic development from Columbia University. Hudson is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese.
